Who we are

UGMA is a household budgeting and forecasting service operated by Creative Time Planning. When you use UGMA, we are the controller of the personal information described below.

If you have a question about privacy, or want your data corrected or deleted, email hello@ugma.io and we'll respond within 30 days.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us.
  • The information you enter: income, outgoings, balances, credit cards, savings targets, pension figures, meal plans, scenarios and any notes you add.
  • Subscription details: your plan, its status and renewal date. Card numbers are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
  • Technical information needed to run the service: sign-in times, and error reports when something breaks.

Why we hold it

We use your information for one purpose: to run UGMA for you — to show your forecast, remember your setup between visits, keep your account secure and take payment if you subscribe.

  • Performing our contract with you: running the app and your subscription.
  • Our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and fixing faults.
  • Legal obligation: keeping payment and tax records.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not connect to your bank. Every figure in UGMA is one you typed in.
  • We do not give financial advice. UGMA shows you your own numbers projected forward.
  • We do not read your data to build profiles or train models.

Who processes it for us

A small number of suppliers process data on our behalf under contract: our hosting and database provider (which stores your account and your entries), our payment provider (which handles checkout and card details), and our email provider (which sends sign-in and account emails from notify.ugma.io). They may only act on our instructions.

Where it lives and how long we keep it

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union and protected in transit and at rest. Access rules mean your account can only ever read and write its own records — no other UGMA user, and no other household, can see your figures.

We keep your data for as long as your account is open. Close your account and we delete your entries within 30 days, apart from payment records we must keep for six years for tax purposes.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. You can do most of this yourself in Settings. If you'd rather we did it, email hello@ugma.io.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

UGMA is for adults managing a household. It isn't intended for under-18s, and we don't knowingly collect their information. You may of course record costs relating to your own children — those entries are just numbers in your account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we'll email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
