Step-by-step guide

From a blank account to a forecast you actually trust

About fifteen minutes to set up. Five minutes a month to keep honest. Work through these six steps in order and the rest of UGMA falls into place.

  1. 01

    Set your starting point

Choose your currency, country and the month you want to start from. UGMA builds your balance from that month, so everything after it lines up with real life.

    • Currency and country
    • First tracking month
    • Opening balance
  2. 02

    Add your income

Every payment that lands in your account — salary, benefits, side work, a partner's pay. Mark anything that only arrives some months so the forecast doesn't over-promise.

    • Pay dates
    • Partner and second incomes
    • Irregular payments
  3. 03

    List your outgoings

Add each bill or spending line under a category. Fixed bills keep the amount you set; variable ones like food and fuel are predicted from your own recent months.

    • Monthly bills
    • Annual and termly costs
    • Everyday spending
  4. 04

    Log what you actually spent

Once a month, update the real figure next to each line. Your funds remaining and risk score reshape straight away — no spreadsheet, no starting over.

    • One pass a month
    • Live month-end position
    • Nothing to re-plan

    Plan debts and big one-offs

Credit cards gives you a payoff order and a debt-free date. Any large future payment gets a suggested monthly amount to set aside, added for you under Balloon payment plan.

    • Debt-free date
    • Set-aside suggestions

    Look ahead

Year view shows the shape of your year. The five-year forecast uses your own inflation and pay-rise assumptions, and What if? lets you test a move or a career break first.
